Nigeria: Ibigwe Modular Refinery Expansion On Track

Houston, Texas – 19 October 2023: VFuels LLC is pleased to announce that the Waltersmith Ibigwe Modular Oil Refinery Phase II is on track following a site visit and inspection by officials from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

Officials from the NMDPRA visited the site of the Ibigwe Modular Refinery in Imo State, Nigeria (October 2023).

The schedule of works regarding onsite design, engineering, construction, and fabrication at the VFuels Energy Park in Houston was reviewed and presented during a site visit in Imo State in October 2023.

VFuels successfully designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned the 5,000 bpd Phase I of the Ibigwe Refinery in November 2020.

Building on this successful track record and project delivery, VFuels has been selected to design, engineer, fabricate, and commission a second module of 5,000 bpd to double the refinery's capacity to 10,000 bpd.

The expansion of the refinery will allow our client, Waltersmith Petroman Oil Ltd, to grow its contribution to Nigeria’s energy security by increasing its production of petroleum products.
