Commissioning of the Monrovia Refinery in Liberia

The 10,000 bpd Monrovia modular refinery has been commissioned in Q2 2022 in Liberia’s capital.

The new facility will boost Liberia’s energy security and help decrease expensive imports of petroleum products to meet growing demand in the West African country.

The modular refinery’s equipment was fabricated in Houston by VFuels before being shipped and assembled in Liberia.

This is the second refinery fabricated by VFuels to be commissioned in West Africa following the opening of Waltersmith’s 5,000 bpd facility at Ibigwe in Nigeria in 2020.
